New to the city: ‘Mumbai is the place to be’

Ever since she got a feel of the city during her vacation in 2012, Pooja Jain (20) has always dreamed of returning to Mumbai. Pursuing an MBA degree in K J Somaiya College, this native of Kolkata cannot be more euphoric that she’s finally in the ‘sapno ki nagri’.

Now that she’s here, stars in her eyes keep her enthusiasm about the city strong, in spite of the responsibility that comes with living away from home. Hoping for a career in finance, she says as a matter of fact, Mumbai is the place to be.

What she likes

What she doesn’t like

Not unusually, she thinks the traffic in the city is a huge minus. “Traffic is constant in Mumbai,” she says. Another thing is the expenses, and prices of everything in general, from rent around the city, to electricity and food. “People on a budget have a really tough time here,” Jain says.
