An NCP worker, one Amjad Redkar, was arrested for attempting to fraudulently grab a MHADA flat in Malwani.

According to the Malwani police,Redkar has been residing in the flat at Tiranga Society in MHADA Colony,Malwani, for the past two years though he was supposed to return the flat to the developer— Vikas Pimpre of Hari Om Builders- by the end of the first year.

The flat has been allotted to one Arun Rokade whose signature has allegedly been forged by Redkar on certain documents to claim that the flat has been transferred to him. However,Pimpre filed a complaint against Redkar on March 21. Acting on the complaint, the police arrested Redkar who had been remanded to police custody till March 31. “According to the complainant,he had given the flat to Redkar on rent till a society was formed. However, though the society was formed at the end of the first year,Redkar refused to leave,” said Senior Police Inspector J Hargude of Malwani police station.

“In fact, despite the flat being allotted to Rokade,Redkar forged the documents of transfer, instead of leaving the home. He was charged under sections 465,468,469,471,420 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code,” he said.
