A 32-year-old unemployed man shot at himself in the chest at his Dadar home Wednesday night.

He was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Bandra with serious injuries.

Police said the incident took place at 10.45 pm at Shree Sai Complex in Dadar, where the man, Vijay Singh, lives with his family.

While other family members were still at home, Singh shot at himself on the right side of his chest with his father’s licenced revolver.

“Singh’s sister has told us that he had been unemployed for the past five years and had been depressed over it. Prima facie, that is the reason Singh shot himself, but we are investigating further,” said police. ENS
