Mumbai: Four attack driver, rob his Ola cab

According to an officer, Gholap was then attacked on his back and left with deep cuts on his arms and pushed out of his vehicle.

Four unidentified men attacked an Ola cab driver and robbed his cab at the Imax junction in Wadala on Sunday night.

The complainant, Praveen Gholap (37), the driver of the Swift Dzire MH 01 BT 8974, said that he was attacked around 11 pm. “Gholap said that he ferried the four unidentified men from Byculla railway station and was to drop them at Wadala. However, the passengers wanted to be dropped at Ghatkopar but Gholap refused.

He asked the passengers to send another request to OLA, following which he could take them to Ghatkopar,” said an officer attached with the Wadala TT police.

According to an officer, Gholap was then attacked on his back and left with deep cuts on his arms and pushed out of his vehicle. Gholap said that he was attacked with a chopper.

Sunil Kadam, inspector, Wadala TT police, said that the accused had used a phone stolen from a Mumbra resident three months ago to book the cab to Wadala. Police said that the accused also stole two phones from Gholap and Rs 13,000. ens
