Mumbai BJP chief Ashish Shelar on Friday submitted an application to Mumbai police seeking a thorough probe against Riyaz Bhati. Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashok Dudhe said, “We received an application by Ashish Shelar against Riyaz Bhati. Same has been acknowledged and given to crime branch Mumbai for further enquiry.”
NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik on Thursday alleged that Riyaz Bhati who has alleged links with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim was seen in picture with BJP top leaders including chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and Ashish Shelar.
Bhati, a member of the Mumbai Cricket Association, is also seen in a picture with Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and NCP chief Sharad Pawar. In his application, Shelar said, “Bhati is not a member of the BJP. None of the BJP leaders have any association with him. I only believe that he is a member of the MCA.”
