Mumabi: ACB arrests assistant police inspector on graft charges

According to the ACB, the arrested police officer has been identified as Rajendra Mane. He was was allegedly demanding Rs 50,000 from the complainant, who was booked in a cheating case by the same police station.

An assistant police inspector attached with Pant Nagar police was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau after being allegedly caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000.

According to the ACB, the arrested police officer has been identified as Rajendra Mane. He was was allegedly demanding Rs 50,000 from the complainant, who was booked in a cheating case by the same police station.

Investigators said that Mane threatened the accused with arrest if he did not pay up, which is when the complainant approached the ACB. On Tuesday, Mane was caught while accepting the bribe.
