Breezing past his opponents in the SFL last year,Manoj ‘Toofan’ Chuhan from Delhi was undefeated until being road blocked by ‘Gujjar Tank’ Anup Kumar. Always heard complaining that Bantam wasnt his weight,he literally ‘jumped’ to flyweights when SFL announced two new categories: flyweights for male and straw weights for female fighters. He is a man on a mission, trying to prove a point that stand up fighters are the best in the business and definitely more exciting than those ‘boring ground-fighters’.
Manoj was supposed to go up against Sarabjit Singh from SFL contenders, this Friday at SFL 16. However, unfortunately Sarabjit Singh was declared unfit to fight by the AMMAI medical officials which made him pull out from both, the SFL contenders and SFL 16.
Sarabjit Singh had made it to the SFL contenders which featured some of Indias top strikers and wrestlers and the SFL 16 Fight card.
Now Manoj is slated to fight against Arun Nagar who is also from Delhi. The flyweight fighter seized the moment and asked if he could be featured on the earliest SFL card and SFL was more than glad to replace Sarabjit with Arun Nagar.
Arun Nagar regularly fights in bantamweight but will be cutting to flyweights just for this opportunity to take on the previous season’s veteran Manoj Chuhan who feels that he will easily win the SFL flyweight world title this year and boasts that his striking is pound for pound the best in the SFL.
This new season has demonstrated an entire new breed of Indian MMA fighters, fighters who understand the value of being a showman and seizing the moment. Manoj Chuhan vs Arun Nagar (i.e. Delhi Vs Delhi) promises to be another bout with both fighters who will hold nothing back and swing for the fences.
