Man jumps to death from 7th floor of building

A 30-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the seventh floor terrace of a housing society in Andheri (East) on Saturday.

A 30-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the seventh floor terrace of a housing society in Andheri (East) on Saturday. Police said Ishwar Joshi was mentally disturbed and had been receiving medical treatment since 2007. No suicide note has been found.

Andheri police said Joshi lived with his parents and brother,Ramesh (28) at Shankar Pandey Chawl on R K Singh Marg. The family owns a milk dairy and Joshi’s father,Ranglal,and Ramesh manage the business. Joshi would occasionally assist his father at the dairy,police said.

Around 8.30 pm on Saturday,Joshi went to the terrace of a building at Haridarshan Cooperative Housing Society and jumped to his death. He was rushed to Cooper Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

Joshi’s family told police that his condition had aggravated over the past few days.
