Tree plantation drive launched

The state government’s ambitious project of planting four crore trees was launched on Saturday. The project was launched at Coastal and Marine Biodiversity Board, Airoli, by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis who planted a Tamhan, biologically called Lagerstroemia speciosa.

The tree is ornamental and is believed to have medicinal value as well.
