The Economic Offences Wing of the Mumbai Police,which is probing the Rs 5,600 crore payment crisis at the National Spot Exchange Limited,has issued a lookout notice against promoter Jignesh Shah and his associates. “We have requested the immigration department to ensure that none of the accused leave the country,” said a police officer. Shah and others will have to appear before investigators for questioning. “There are raids that are underway at two to three places on Friday,” the officer added.The spot commodity bourse,promoted by Jignesh Shah-led Financial Technologies,has been facing problems in settling Rs 5,600 crore dues of 148 members/brokers,representing 13,000 investor-clients,after it suspended trade on July 31 on government’s direction.
