Commuters of both Central and Western Railway were inconvenienced on Thursday owing to separate incidents of tripping of OHE and technical snags affecting signals. While at least six services were cancelled by evening by WR,at least 10 CR services were cancelled. Railway officials blamed light showers for the technical snags.

10am -Dadar-Parel

The disruptions began with a signal failure being noted on the Up fast line between Dadar and Parel at 10 am,affecting fast services.

10.30am – Dadar (WR)

A while later,at 10.30 am,tripping of the overhead equipment was reported at Dadar. The system was restored in around 20 minutes.

11am – Mahim (WR)

A pantograph of an Up local developed a snag between Bandra and Mahim at 11 am. WR sources said the pantograph of the local got lowered owing to a technical snag, following which the local was hauled by a diesel engine and removed from service.

11am – Badlapur-Vangani (CR)

When WR was facing operational hiccups,CR ran into another problem when an Up local train got stuck between Badlapur and Vangani. CR officials said the service was affected due to a signal failure.
