Khanapurkar guides Customs to victory

Opener Parag Khanapurkar’s unbeaten knock of 79 helped Mumbai Customs inflict a crushing eight-wicket defeat on Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers in the opening Group ‘B’ match of the Police Commissioner’s Twenty20 D/N Cup ,played at the Police Gymkhana ground,Marine Drive on Monday.

Opener Parag Khanapurkar’s unbeaten knock of 79 (46 balls) helped Mumbai Customs inflict a crushing eight-wicket defeat on Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers (RCF) in the opening Group ‘B’ match of the Police Commissioner’s Twenty20 D/N Cup ,played at the Police Gymkhana ground,Marine Drive on Monday.

In reply to RCF’s total of 151 for 6,Customs easily overhauled the target scoring 155 for 2 in 16.3 overs.

The left-handed Khanapurkar’s innings was studded with four huge hits over the fence and seven boundaries. Skipper Atul Ranade played a perfect supporting role scoring 47 runs with the help of three sixes and five fours. The duo shared a second wicket partnership of 86 runs.

Later,Khanapurkar and Sachin Wagh,unbeaten on 28,added 69 runs for the third wicket to steer the team to victory.

DY Patil T20 Cup

DY Patil Stadium will be hosting first edition of inter-office invitational T20 cup for the lower division teams respresenting in Times Shield cricket tournament from May 10 to 13 at their stadium.
