Indrani Mukerjea filed an application before a special CBI court Monday to be granted access to documents not included in the copy of the chargesheet which was filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation last year.
Mukerjea has also sought a copy of the statement filed before a magistrate by fellow Shyamwar Rai, who was her former driver. The court also rejected an application filed by another accused, Sanjeev Khanna, who had requested that home food be provided to him in jail. The trio was chargesheeted for the murder of Mukerjea’s daughter Sheena Bora in Bandra in 2012 and burning and burying her body in a forest in Raigad District. Mukerjea’s husband, media executive Peter Mukerjea, is also in jail for complicity in the crime.
Mukerjea’s daughter, Vidhie Mukerjea, also paid a visit to her mother in court Monday even as she applied in court for her bank chequebooks to be given to her. She told the court that she needed to make payments relating to Vidhie’s education. Before entering the elevator surrounded by police constables, Mukerjea turned to her daughter and said, “don’t worry” to which Vidhie replied, “you too”
