Powered by Edilbert Martis’ four goals,United Brothers humbled Tanishka FC 8-0 in a Division III match of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) League at the St Xavier’s ground,Parel on Wednesday. Erlin Saldanha,Elvis Fernandes,Christopher Macwan and Suvin Fernandes scored one each to seal the win for the Brothers.

Parsn SC also enjoyed a comfortable outing as they romped to a 3-1 win against Mumbai United in another clash of the same division. Vrush Patel,Dipen Seth and Suraj Kapoor were on target with a goal apiece for the winners,while Mumbai United scored their lone goal through Sunil Peddamallj’s efforts.

Meanwhile,Shantinagar Mitra Mandal scripted a narrow 1-0 victory against Atlanta FC with Sarvesh Naik netting the winning goal.

Easy win for Jamnabai

Jamnabai Narsee romped to a 3-0 win over Christ Church in a Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) boys’ under-16 Division I-A contest at the Castrol-MSSA centre in Azad Maidan on Tuesday. Sahil Patel,Drishya Khanna and Sanarth Vallia shared the spoils with a goal each. Campion School and St Joseph from Wadala,meanwhile,played out a 0-0 draw in the same division.

Simran leads the way

Simran Kharade scored the lone goal to help Vodafone defeat Deutsche Bank 1-0 in the final and clinch the Ladies Cup in the 5th Indoor Corporate Soccer Championship at the Central Railway Multipurpose Complex,Parel.

The men’s team,however,were beaten 6-3 by Michael Page,who were well served by Damian Pilat,who scored three goals. Brijesh Mongia got a brace and Nitin Abraham one to complete the win. Anthony Albuquerque scored all the three goals for Vodafone.
