Elphinstone Cricket Club cueists Sunil Jain and Shahbaz Khan fashioned contrasting wins to advance to the senior snooker elite round robin in the Malabar Hill Club Maharashtra State Selection Billiards and Snooker Tournament on Wednesday.
Formidable Jain overcame Sanjeev Bijlani of Park Club 2-0,while Khan rallied to beat Rishabh Shah of Mandpeshwar Civic Federation,Borivali 2-1.
Senior billiards champion Arun Agrawal and junior billiards and snooker champion Jaiveer Dhingra were the significant winners who also advanced to the round robin.
It was not easy for Dhingra who was taken the distance by a determined Pankaj Khatri who experienced good form on the day including a break of 46 in his first round win over Vishal Gehani of Park Club.
Nikhil Ghadge of Matunga Gymkhana was the significant first round winner.
