The crime branch is scanning CCTV footage at the Nariman Point office of industrialist Mukesh Ambani to identify a man who allegedly delivered a threat letter Sunday afternoon.

“The man visited the office on a holiday and there were not many people in the office. We are trying to identify him using CCTV footage,” said joint commissioner of police (crime) Himanshu Roy.

The case has been handed over to unit II of the crime branch,as the Ambani residence Antilia is in its jurisdiction. The letter threatens to target Antilia.

It claims Ambani has hurt sentiments of a minority community by supporting Gujarat CM Narendra Modi and demands release of Indian Mujahideen operative called Danish. The matter was reported to police by the security head of Reliance Industries.

“The envelope and the letter bear no identification marks. The letter was handwritten on a plain paper,” Roy said, adding,“We have a fair idea of what is going on but need to work further before we can say anything.”

He said Danish had not been identified. Mohammed Danish Ansari,a resident of Darbangha in Bihar, was arrested by the anti-terrorism squad, for allegedly sheltering the Bhatkal brothers, who are wanted for several terrorist acts, before they fled the country.
