The Coalition is a platform that is calling creative entrepreneurs from across the country under one roof. These could be anyone, from music venue owners to app designers and gallerists. Any business that is trying to make a living in the creative space. The event is the brainchild of Only Much Louder, the company behind NH7 Weekender and Do One Thing, a Delhi-based consultancy that connects companies with cultural initiatives and social change projects. The conference already has had 800 people who have applied to attend it over the past few months and is looking to add to this number.
Named TC/1, the three-day event beginning on March 14 will have talks by successful entrepreneurs, workshops and an opportunity for fledgling businesses to pitch for investment. Among the speakers are Roysten Abel, who dropped out of college to join the Royal Shakespeare Company and is behind Manganiyar Seduction; Neha Kirpal, founder of India Art Fair; Sharad Devarajan, CEO of Liquid Comics and Graphic India; and associate professor at Columbia University, Amitabh Kant, who is credited with developing the Incredible India campaign among others.
