CR to open dorms for women at CST,LTT

Central Railway will soon provide air-conditioned dormitories exclusively for women at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT).

Central Railway will soon provide air-conditioned dormitories exclusively for women at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT). These dormitories are the first of their kind in India.

Railway minister Pawan Bansal will inaugurate the dormitories on April 16. The plan to construct dormitories for women was the brainchild of Subodh Jain,General Manager,CR.

The dormitories will also have lockers for passengers. “A separate dormitory will be a boon for working women who travel alone and want a safe and reasonably-priced place to stay,specially in metros. Also,security at stations such as CST and LTT has been beefed up,” said a senior CR official.
