A 43-year-old Bollywood costume designer was found dead Monday under mysterious circumstances in a well at a resort in Gorai. The deceased, identified as Anil Cherian, had reportedly gone to the resort to attend a party organised by a relative of one of his employees.

Statements of Cherian’s friends and resort staff are being recorded,” said Mahesh Patil,Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 11).

Anil stayed in Juhu Tara Road with wife Shivani (41). On Saturday,an employee of Anil was going to attend a relative’s birthday party at Fonseca resort in Gorai village. The Gorai police said Cherian asked her (his employee) if he could join the party and she agreed.

The police added that Anil drank liquor at the party. “Around 3.30 am,he took his mobile phone and walked out of the room. When he did not return, the others assumed that he has left for his residence,” the police said.

When Anil did not return home,Shivani went to Gorai. Later, she lodged a missing person’s complaint at the Juhu police station.

Anil’s body was reportedly spotted inside a well on Monday when a resort staff went there to draw water.

The police was informed and the body fished out of the well.
