Fire at Pydhonie restaurant

A fire broke out at Lime and Spice Restaurant in Pydhonie Tuesday. The blaze was put out in under two hours using five fire tenders and there were no casualties. The fire started at around 4 pm in the kitchen of the restaurant on the ground floor of a residential building near Johar Chowk on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Road. Fire brigade officers said 30 people were shifted to safety using hydraulic ladders from the first floor.

Engg student suicide: Classmate questioned

A boy named in an alleged suicide note of engineering student Nitin Padalkar was summoned for questioning Kalyan GRP Tuesday night. Nitin had accused classmates Pradeep Paikrao and Guarav Madhvi of bullying him. “We called Pradeep for questioning. He said Nitin found the maths paper difficult and sought his help. We will also question Gaurav,” said inspector Arun Jagtap.
