Despite an overcast sky and indications of rain on Thursday, the Met department said there was only a slight chance for rain in the city on Friday.
Grey skies and clouds have been observed in the city since the beginning of the week. There has been a lot of clouding over the Arabian Sea due to moisture availability caused by heating of the sea, which is normal during this season. The Met department on Wednesday evening had issued a forecast of possibility of light rain for Thursday. However,no rain was recorded. Even though other parts like Pune and Mahabaleshwar have received rain, there is only a slight chance of light rain in the city on Friday, Rajeev said.
