THE THANE police probing the IRS scam Friday arrested one more person who had invested in the bogus call centres operating in the Mira Road-Bhayander stretch.

The accused, Akhilesh Singh (30), a Mira Road resident, is alleged to have invested in a call centre at Hari Om IT park, suspected to be one of the call centres from where the fraudulent calls were made. “ He was one of the main partners in the call centre,” an officer said. He said Singh was arrested based on a tip-off that he was holed up in Mira Road.

The police believe his interrogation may help them get leads on the mastermind of the racket, Sagar Thakkar alias Shaggy. ENS
