BRD,Juhu Vile Parle in tied match

The 65th Dr H D Kanga Cricket League witnessed its first tied game of the season.

The 65th Dr H D Kanga Cricket League witnessed its first tied game of the season with BRD and Juhu Vile Parle finishing absolutely level in their Division F contest at Bharat Ground,Shivaji Park.

Batting first,BRD were bowled out for 73 with seamer Akshay Dalvi returning figures of 6/12. BRD’s Pritam Shinde then produced an almost identical spell,snaring 6/18 to restrict Juhu Vile Parle to the exact same score.

In the same division,Sujit Devokar of Sportsmen fromVasai unfortunately fell just six runs short of a deserved century against Friends in a drawn match at Cross Maidan.

Rohit Bhalla,meanwhile,produced the best figures in Division G. But his 8/19 strangely ended up in a losing cause with Canara Vijay going down to Gallant at P J Hindu Gymkhana. Gallant were bowled out for 66 but restricted their opponents to just 38 with R Shedge starring with four wickets.

Santosh Sampat’s spell of 7/25,however,helped Rizvi post an innings victory over Gamdevi who were bowled out for 59. Rizvi,batting first had scored 91,with R Pai and M Naik doing the damage with the ball for Gamdevi with four and three wickets each respctively,before finishing on 63/5 in their second innings.
