BMC gets nod to use 50% water quota

According to the IMD, the Colaba weather station recorded 110 mm rainfall and 107 mm at Santa Cruz till 8.30 am on Tuesday.

Spelling good news for Mumbaikars, the BMC has got the state government’s nod to use 50 per cent of the water quota during a meeting held on June 17. Even as the pre-monsoon rains have arrived in the city, the BMC now has a water stock which will last till July 30.

According to the IMD, the Colaba weather station recorded 110 mm rainfall and 107 mm at Santa Cruz till 8.30 am on Tuesday. Due to heavy rains, five incidents of house collapse and 102 cases of tree falling were reported.
