Bikers snatch addl civic chief’s cellphone

Two unidentified persons on a motorbike allegedly snatched the phone of additional municipal commissioner Mohan M Adtani Saturday and fled. No arrests have been made yet.

Two unidentified persons on a motorbike allegedly snatched the phone of additional municipal commissioner Mohan M Adtani Saturday and fled. No arrests have been made yet.

The incident occurred around 9.40 pm when Adtani,a resident of S C M Bungalow in Malabar Hill,was on Meghdoot bridge near Hindu Gymkhana at Marine Drive talking on his Samsung S3,police said.

“We lodged an FIR yesterday (Saturday) night. Adtani had got down from his car and was talking on the phone when a speeding biker snatched it,” said Rajendra Patil,inspector,Marine Drive police station.

The police are looking at footage from three CCTV cameras. “We are rounding up chain and bag snatchers on record to check if they or any of their accomplices might be involved in the crime,” said Patil.
