60 IPS officers promoted, transferred

Prabhat Ranjan has been made the new ADG of Police Administration in place of Sanjay Barve, who takes over as ADGP Railways.

The Home Ministry Saturday announced the promotion and transfer of 60 IPS officers in the state, of which 20 senior officials of the Additional Director General and Special Inspector General Level rank were transferred. Prabhat Ranjan has been made the new ADG of Police Administration in place of Sanjay Barve, who takes over as ADGP Railways. Rajnish Seth has been made the new ADGP Anti-Corruption Bureau, while R K Singhal will be taking over as the Commissioner of Police, Railways, Mumbai.

The posts of Additional Commissioner of Police (East region) and Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime), which had been lying vacant for several months due to pending promotions, will be taken over by Chhering Dorje and KMM Prasanna respectively. Additional Commissioners of Police Brijesh Singh and Madhukar Pandey from Mumbai have been promoted as Inspector General, with Kishore Jadhav and R D Shinde replacing them.

40 IPS officers of the level of SP and DCP have also been transferred. The new DCPs in Mumbai include Virendra Mishra, Dr P V Ugale, Sandeep Karnik, Supriya Patil-Yadav, S Jayakumar, and Satyanarayan Chowdhury. The state has also decided to appoint Suvez Haque as SP of the newly- formed Palghar district.
