5-year-old sexually assaulted in Antop Hill

Truck driver Chotu Kumar Trivedi (22),a Jharkhand native,was arrested Wednesday for allegedly sexually assaulting a five-year-old neighbourhood girl in his Antop Hill home Tuesday.

The girl lives with her parents and older sister.

Police said Trivedi lured the girl promising sweets while she was playing Tuesday evening. Her father was away and mother cooking inside their home at the time.

“He took her to the mezzanine floor of his house and indulged in unnatural sex till she began to cry,” said Suresh Bhavar,inspector,Wadala TT police station.

He said the girl began to vomit and cry again around 3 am Wednesday and recounted the incident to her mother.

The girl’s parents then tracked Trivedi down with the help of other neighbours but he fled before a mob could assault him. Police formed three teams after a complaint was registered and nabbed Trivedi in Mahim late Wednesday evening.

He has been charged under IPC sections 354 (molestation) and 377 (unnatural sex) and section 3 (Penetrative Sexual Assault ) of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and will be produced before a magistrate Thursday.
