Man kills father for stopping him from taking drugs

The accused fled after committing the crime. A case has been registered at police station Mehtiana and a search is on to arrest him as soon as possible.

A drug addict, out on parole, allegedly killed his father after hitting him with a sharp weapon in Jalandhar on Saturday morning. The son was angry because his father was stopping him from taking drugs.

The accused has been identified as Charanjit Singh, a resident of Chela village in Chabbewal. His father Kashmir Singh was 70-year-old. Harjit Singh, the deceased’s other son, said that he had gone to the gym in Kot Fatuhi village when his wife Gurpreet Kaur informed that Charanjit Singh had allegedly murdered their father. He said that his brother was a drug addict and was out on parole.
