Shiv Sena issued Friday a veiled warning to new state BJP President Devendra Fadnavis to not have a truck with other parties in the state.

After assuming the charge,Fadnavis had reportedly said he would join hands with all opposition parties to take on Congress-NCP.

“The newly appointed state BJP president announced he will join hands with all opposition parties. What exactly is he planning to do? What exactly is his definition of opposition parties? He should stick to strengthening the Shiv Sena-BJP-RPI alliance. It is better to concentrate on what is in hand than run after mirages,” an edit in Sena mouthpiece Saamana said.

The BJP leadership is keen on MNS to form a grand alliance. However, both Raj Thackeray and Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray are adamant on not joining hands.

The Saamana editorial did not name any political party but said BJP leaders who envisioned a grand alliance did not succeed.

“Munde and Gadkari had plans of a grand alliance in the state. However, they ended up ruing their decisions,” it said.

Munde and Gadkari were keen on bringing MNS into the fold of a united opposition to ensure the defeat of Congress-NCP. However,Raj Thackeray wants to go it alone.

“We have friendly relations with BJP and Hindutva binds both parties. If we work to strengthen the Shiv Sena-BJP-RPI alliance,Congress-NCP and other small fries will get annihilated,” the edit said.
