Withdrawal of flight: Tewari says it’s NDA’s first gift to Ludhiana

Tewari said he had hoped that the Akali-BJP government and the NDA government would help in improving the air connectivity between Ludhiana and Delhi.

Former Ludhiana MP and Union minister Manish Tewari on Friday lashed out at the state and Central governments for withdrawing the flight between Ludhiana and Delhi which had become operational on May 13, 2010 due to his personal efforts. He said it was apparently the first gift of the NDA government, of which the Shiromani Akali Dal was a part and parcel, to the people of Ludhiana.

Tewari said he had hoped that the Akali-BJP government in Punjab and the NDA government at the Centre would help in improving the air connectivity between Ludhiana and Delhi. “Instead they have given us, the people of Ludhiana, a severe shock by announcing the complete withdrawal of the flight from here,” he added.
