Wanted gangster held in Bathinda

According to SSP Swapan Sharma, Chatha was part of the gang floated by Vicky Gounder and Gurpreet Sekhon, who are lodged in jail.

The Bathinda police on Tuesday late arrested a gangster, booked in over 15 cases. Identified as Navdeep Chatha ( 28), the gangster was arrested from Bathinda’s Desu Jodha village. According to SSP Swapan Sharma, Chatha was part of the gang floated by Vicky Gounder and Gurpreet Sekhon, who are lodged in jail. Chatha is a resident of Dabwali in Haryana.

As per information, Chatta was travelling along with four people in two cars when police stopped them near the Deshu Jodha village. Sharing details of the arrest, IG Bathinda range SK Asthana said, “A check post was set up between Deshu Jodha village and Sekhu village. When our teams stopped the vehicle, one of them fired at the cops. This led to an exchange of fire. All his accomplices sitting inside the vehicles fled. Chatha was the only one who was arrested. Two cars, one pistol 0.32 bore US made and one 0.32 bore pistol, a magazine and 25 live cartridges have been recovered from him.”
