The railway police on Tuesday recovered two bodies from the railway tracks near Dhandari. Around 10 am,the first body was recovered. Unidentified,the police claimed that the man was around 40-42 years old. Another body was recovered an hour later and police have been unable to ascertain his identity,as well. The deceased is said to be in his late 30s. “Cases have been registered and bodies have been sent to the Civil Hospital for post mortem,” said Jaswant Singh,hawaldar of Dhandari Police Station.
Sukhbir to meet MC officials today
Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal will meet MC officials on July 17 at Circuit House to discuss projects under Mission Ludhiana. The project which is worth Rs 2,499 crore was approved recently by the Punjab government. All projects on which MC has done maximum expenditure and their present status will be told to Deputy CM, said Sumit Jarangal,MC additional commissioner.
Van operators to go on hunger strike
Even as private school van operators strike entered its seventh day on Tuesday,the association has now decided to go on a hunger strike from Wednesday. Darshan Sabharwal,president,School Vans Operators Association,said,Till the DTO accepts our demands,we will be on a hunger strike from Wednesday outside Zone-D office of the MC.
Aneesh secured ninth rank ICAI exam
City resident Aneesh Bansal secured all India ninth rank as Institute of Chartered Accountants of India declared results of chartered accountants on Tuesday. Bansal attributed his success to his parents and teachers.
