Three-day Art Utsav gets underway

The alumni and faculty of Sportking Institute of Fashion Technology (SIFT) came together and organised a three- day ‘Art Utsav’ which was inaugurated at M S Randhawa Art Gallery at Punjab Agricultural University on Sunday.

The alumni and faculty of Sportking Institute of Fashion Technology (SIFT) came together and organised a three- day ‘Art Utsav’ which was inaugurated at M S Randhawa Art Gallery at Punjab Agricultural University on Sunday.

The exhibition with paintings of seven artists on display was inaugurated by Swarnjit Savi,a well-known poet,painter and photographer. Graphic designer Gagandeep Singh is the organiser of the event. Pradeep Mandal,the faculty course leader of Knitwear Design Department of SIFT,is the main motivator behind the project,as per the group of artists. His paintings in abstract form on various themes won appreciation.

According to Rohit Dhiman,a faculty member,art is a tremendous gift and creativity runs in family. Another artist Anup Singh,a finance advisor by profession,feels that art is an artist’s mystery which never gets solved.

Students Akshiti Thaman,Amarjot Singh,Gunn Arora and Rubina Birdi also displayed their paintings and artworks.
