New BJP district president Parveen Bansal on Thursday said in the next MC elections, the swapping of seats of SAD and BJP in various wards was a possibility.

“In the previous elections,we contested on 37 seats. While the number of seats will remain the same,it is likely that SAD and BJP councillors may swap their wards looking at the winnability of the candidates,” Bansal said while assuming charge.

He said the alliance was united on this front and had no difference of opinion. “We have to ensure victory in the MC elections,so we have to see which candidate is the most suitable in which ward,” he added.

Though the new president maintains new faces will also be seen in the elections, the majority of the councillors are either projecting their wives in the wards reserved for women or their relatives in the general wards.
