After disruption of city bus service due to strike by drivers and conductors in past days, it is now fuel expenses that stopped buses from plying on Wednesday. In a letter to MC commissioner Pradeep Aggarwal, Prasanna Purple Mobility Services Private Limited, a Pune-based company has made it clear that Rs 40 lakh fuel bills are pending and now fuel vendors have refused to supply fuel till old bills are cleared.

The letter also mentioned that ‘till date the company was managing expenses on its own but now it has become impossible to run buses as authorities are not clearing the dues.’

Vinod Kumar, maintenance in-charge of the company said, “MC has not paid us since April and pending dues run in crores. We have no money to pay Rs 40 lakh. A letter has been sent to MC commissioner to release our dues at the earliest. We don’t want the public harassed but we have no money.”
