Police Commissioner Ishwar Singh on Monday solved the case of Rs 27-lakh robbery which happened on April 20 near the Fountain Chowk. The robbery was planned by an employee of Righter Safeguard Collection Agency along with two of his friends. All of them have been arrested and Rs 20.5 lakh recovered.
On Saturday,Loveneet Singh,an employee of this collection agency, came to deposit Rs 27 lakh in the SBI fountain chowk branch but he reached late despite it being Saturday. Later,he went to the Officers Colony bank branch, leaving the company driver and security guard outside the bank. He left his mobile inside the vehicle and on his way,two motorcyclists abducted him along with money. Later, they released him after taking the money,as per Loveneet.
The Police Commissioner said it was surprising why he went all alone to deposit a huge amount of money in the second branch, leaving his mobile in the car. After questioning Loveneet,it was found that he had already done embezzlement inside the company and hence to settle that amount,he hatched the robbery plan but he was caught in two days only.
Saurabh Kaushal, who works in Numero Uno showroom in a mall, and Ravi were his other friends who were on a motorcycle. Police recovered Rs 20.5 lakh lying at the house of Kaushal while Rs 6.5 lakh had been deposited by Loveneet in his different accounts which would be recovered soon after taking due permissions from bank, said the Police Commissioner.
