The police remand of the six arrested and accused in the DSP Balraj Singh Gill and Monica Kapila double murder case has been extended by two days. The accused were presented in a local court on Monday.

Meanwhile,Harpreet Sandhu, counsel for K S Gill, father of the deceased DSP Balraj Singh Gill, who argued the case on behalf of the complainant, said,“the Judge Amrinder Singh JMIC asked my client whether he was satisfied with the investigations conducted so far by the police. Gill, who was at great pain and under gloom as the accused stood right next to us,however did manage to tell the court that he was satisfied..”

Sandhu added,“We argued for the extension of police remand for not only was this murder but one of the most heinous murders where we lost a decorated police officer. Hence, the police should be handed over the accused so that recoveries like the original number plates of the cars and other items belonging to Gill and Monica, which were taken away by the accused, could be found.”
