Punjabi Varsity emerge overall champions

Showing no signs of stopping,Punjabi University,Patiala emerged as the overall champion in the All India-Inter University Cycling Championship held at Ludhiana on Sunday.

Gursharandeep Singh of Punjabi University clocked 2hr 32m 45.202s to claim gold in 100 km mass start. The second and third position was shared by Girbaj Singh of Punajb University and Ram Swaroop Jhakar of Bikaner University.

Gurpreet Kaur of Punjabi University,Patiala won the 30 km Mass Start in women category,while Desai Priyanka of Pune University and Parvathy V G of Kerala University bagged the second and third position,respectively.

Meanwhile,the Punjabi University,Patiala team comprising of Sarpreet Singh,Girshrandeep Singh,Jasvir Singh Sarao and Satwant Singh claimed the 48 km Road Team Trial in men’s category.

The Bikaner University team which comprised of Om Parkash Jat,Ramswaroop Jakhar,Kapil Dev Bisnoi and Jetha Ram claimed the second spot while Pardeep Kumar,Vivek Walia,Pankaj Kumar and Salbir Singh of Punjab University won the third position.
