PAU welcomes PhD,international students

The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) Science Club organised a party here on Friday to welcome the PhD and international students.

PAU Vice-Chancellor Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon said the university had made tremendous progress in agriculture and its allied fields. “Today you are students,tomorrow you are going to be masters,” he said,exhorting the students to develop a sense of social responsibility.

Dr Dhillon appreciated the international students for choosing the PAU for their education. He wished them good luck.

The Dean of Postgraduate Studies,Dr Gursharan Singh,welcomed the senior officers,deans,directors,additional directors,heads,faculty and students of the PAU. He said education was incomplete without participation in co-curricular activities.

PAU students,including Alice from France,Nassir from Afghanistan and Subhash from Kerala,enthralled the audience with their belle dance,solo song and novel and unique acts.

Dr Dhillon honoured Shalini Agnihothri,an MSc student of the PAU,for bagging the 285th rank in UPSC Civil Services 2011.

Later,the PAU students danced to the western,Bhangra and Giddha tunes.
