Newborn girl thrown in hospital commode

A newborn baby girl wrapped in a polythene bag was thrown in a commode of a hospital in Daba area on Thursday.

Found by a woman who came to the toilet,the baby was immediately admitted to the same hospital and was now out of danger.

The Daba police registered a case under Section 317 (exposure and abandonment of child under 12 years by parent or person having care of it) of the IPC against the unidentified accused.

The CCTV camera installed at Juneja Hospital,ATI road,showed that a teenager boy entered the hospital with a polythene bag and then returned empty-handed from the toilet.

Dr Pooja Juneja,who is treating the abandoned girl,said the child was three to four hours old and was out of danger.

ADCP city-2 Bhupinder Singh said,“We are getting information from all hospitals,nursing homes and midwives about deliveries that happened in the past one day. The accused will be arrested soon.”
