J S BIR,Divisional Commissioner,Patiala Range today said the Punjab government will soon pass a new Industrial Policy to boost the industry in the state and generate more employment. This will enable both new entrepreneurs and the industry take advantage of a single window clearance mechanism.

There will also be a deemed approval clause,which will help new entrepreneurs carry out business with ease in case the necessary proposal is not administered within the stipulated time.

Bir was here to inaugurate the Engineering Expo 2009 at Government College for Women today.

Bir said: “The Expo is a platform for both the big and small engineering companies to showcase their innovation,explore new technologies and ideas. I hope more such exhibitions will be organised in Ludhiana.” An array of products like machines,hydraulic and pneumatic systems,plastic,packaging,electrical and electronic items,pumps and valves,automation systems,material handling equipment,instrumentation and control equipment,chemical plant and machinery,pharmaceutical machinery,automotive components are on display at the expo.
