The Sadar police on Thursday arrested a 41-year-old industrialist for drug peddling.
The police recovered 10 gm heroin from Rohit Saggar, a resident of Kundanpuri. Police said he claimed to have been brought into drug peddling by his NRI friend. The accused told the police that he used to get drugs from a supplier in Beas and consume drugs himself as well. The accused owns a factory of cardboard cones. Sub-inspector Amandeep Singh Brar said the police arrested the accused from a checkpoint near Manakwal village following a tip-off.

A case under sections 22, 61, 85 of the NDPS Act was registered against him.
