A brilliant all-round performance by Gurinder Singh (47 no and 4 for 12) enabled GNPS -36 drub DAV-15 by a huge deficit of 57 runs in the semi final on the 6th day of the inter-school cricket tournament for boys ( under-19) for Adviser’s Cup being played at Sector 16 Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh on Tuesday.

Winning the toss,GNPS-36 decided to bat first on a good batting wicket and posted a competitive total of 186 runs in their allotted 25 overs losing 7 wickets. GNPS got off to good start as their openers Gunjit and Shivam batted well and scored 34 and 17 runs in the opening slot. The innings was further carried on by Anil Sihag (55) who played all over the park along with an unbeaten 47 by Gurinder Singh who batted with maturity and managed to take the team to a total of 186 runs. Rozal Batra and Tanveer were the only successful bowlers from DAV-15 who claimed two wickets each giving away 36 and 30 runs, respectively.

In reply,DAV-15 had no answer to a disciplined GNPS bowling and managed to get hold of a paltry 129 in 25 overs losing 9 wickets.
