After demanding resignation of Revenue Minister Bikramjit Singh Majithia, now former BJP minister Satpal Gosain has urged the BJP to give outside support to the SAD and fight for their existence in Punjab.
“In the recent Lok Sabha elections, BJP has come to know about their missing contact with the masses. In order to regain touch with the masses before the 2017 Assembly elections, we must give outside support to SAD in Punjab and the ministers should shun their posts. We need to fight for public on issues like drug mafia, sand mafia, corruption as BJP’s mass contact is reducing and if we don’t want to suffer much in 2017 Assembly elections, this step is a must,” Gosain said.
Asserting that “I stand by my statement that all those ministers should resign whose names are coming in drug mafia”, he said, “The party high command must take feedback from grassroots-level workers and later should act upon the BJP leaders who did anti-party activities in the recent elections.”
He added, “If groupism is promoted, it will affect the party in the coming elections.”
The former BJP minister had appreciated the resignation of Sarwan Singh Phillaur two days back and said that he should have done this before the polls. “To start with, any BJP minister or chief parliamentary secretary involved in drug trade should be shown the door first,” Gosain had said.
