A girl of around four-five years reached Ludhiana railway station through Chandigarh-Amritsar Superfast Express late on Sunday evening.

However, the police are not able to trace her family or the people who accompanied her in the train. The police suspect that either she was left out intentionally or she boarded the train alone by mistake.

Since Sunday night, the railway police has been making all efforts to keep the girl happy. They gave her chocolate biscuits as she refused to have food.

“She says her name is Elphy and her mother’s name is Sarjahan and her father’s name is Mehboob. Maybe she is from a Muslim family. At present,we have handed over the girl to Child Helpline NGO at Talwandi Khurd village,” said Harinder Singh,ASI,railway police.

The girl also says she belongs to Chandigarh and was playing in the park before boarding the train.
