The BSNL Employees’ Union held its district executive committee meeting and general body meeting for the preparation of participation in the national-level convention being held at Mavlankar Hall,New Delhi. R L Moudgil,Assistant General Secretary,BSNL Employees Union (CHQ) attended the meeting. Moudgil called upon the executive and non-executive staff of BSNL to get united to face and fight out the anti nation and anti-worker policies of the Central Government. He explained that all the policies pursued by Central government are in favour of private telecom operators. He demanded immediate rejection of Sam Pitroda Committee recommendations which has suggested 30 per cent disinvestment of BSNL,retrenchment of one lakh employees,outsourcing and unbundling of last mile copper wire for benefit of Multi National Corporations and Indian Private Telecom Operators. Balbir Singh Circle Secretary,BSNL Employees Union Punjab Circle,while addressing the workers stated that a long drawn struggle will be declared in the national convention being held at New Delhi on July 19,2010.
