With the arrest of four people,the Ludhiana Rural Police claim to have busted a gang of robbers involved in as many as nine cases in districts like Ludhiana,Moga and Barnala. The police also recovered four mobile phones,two two-wheelers,cash and sharp-edged weapons from their possession. The four have been identified as Kulwant Singh,Pritpal Singh,Jagsheer Singh and Rachhpal Singh. One of their alleged accomplices,identified as Mohan Singh alias Mohni,managed to escape from the spot. Ludhiana Rural SSP Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said the four were held on March 11 from the road leading from Nanaksar to drain bridge Gurusar. The SSP added that the group was planning a new robbery when the police party conducted the raid on receiving secret information. The four were produced in the court of Mandeep Kaur,PCS Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate,Jagraon,on March 12,and sent to police remand till March 15.
