After issuing enough challans, now traffic department is in a mood to do Gandhigiri. For three days, the department will not be issuing any challan but will be distributing only pamphlets.
Nearly 1,000 pamphlets were distributed at Bhaibala Chowk,Bharat Nagar Chowk and Jagraon bridge on Monday.
For every violator who is in the habit of using pressure horn while waiting for his turn, the pamphlet reads: Dont be angry…. wait for your turn.
Follow traffic rules, they are for your safety, reads another pamphlet.
ACP (Traffic) Dhruman Nimbale said,After looking at the mad traffic of Ludhiana, our department thought of this novel idea. For three days we will be teaching them and reminding them of their mistakes in a polite manner. We want to see the reaction from the masses. The main chowks have been chosen because they are the traffic bottlenecks of Ludhiana.
Women constables were seen deployed at all these places.
