The Federtaion of of Punjab Small Industries Associations (FOPSIA) has opposed the increase in VAT by .5 per cent and continuation of E-TRIP system. With this,VAT in Punjab will be 6 per cent, which is the highest compared to neighbouring states. Badish Jindal,President of the Association, said that Punjabs industry is not in a position to pay more and more taxes to the state.
This has also proved that the state government has no regard for its alliance partner ,the BJP. Despite the BJP appeal not to raise VAT and cancell E-TRIP,the SAD government has implemented both.
