A local businessman has alleged that he was duped and threatened in Australia.

Vikramjit Bhamra, director of Morning Star Industries,Ludhiana, and son of Narinder Bhamra, president of Fasteners Manufacturers Association of India, said an industrialist of Australia,Satbir Singh of Melbourne Tools Pty Ltd,had invited him by sending fake details of machinery. After Vikramjeet reached Melbourne,he was told to deposit Australian $ 10,000 as advance (token money). After receiving the advance,Satbir refused to show any machines and threatened Bhamra of dire consequences if he complained to the police.

With the efforts of MP Manish Tiwari,a complaint had already been lodged at the Australian consulate against Satvir, said Vikramjeet.

All the industrial organisations have decided to write to the External Affairs Ministry to take a stern action in this regard.
